Strategic Planning Updates:

You might remember that last fall we embarked upon a strategic planning process. The process started with us asking you for feedback and you delivered! You helped guide the direction and focus of how we can grow and improve over the next 3-5 years and even further into the future. One of the areas that was identified by surveys and community feedback was the department's identity. What do we do and what does our name say about what we do?

So, we are starting with the name. Drum roll please..................................................................

Our new name will be Amherst Recreation!

Among other changes you will see:

  • Website update - coming in November 2020
  • Registration system upgrade - coming in January 2021
  • Responding to emerging community needs - Ongoing

Thank you so much for your continued support.

Sincerely,

The Amherst Recreation Staff and Commission Members
