2011 Final Proposals

Thank you to all the organizations and agencies that submitted proposals for the 2011 CDBG program. The applications were all competitive and well-received. At the public meeting on November 1, 2010, the Community Development Committee recommended a list of proposals that were reviewed by the public on November 10, 2010, and subsequently endorsed by the Town Manager for submission to the Department of Housing and Community Development. The proposals can be seen below.

Social Service Activities

• $18,000 Town of Amherst-Emergency Assistance
• $20,500 Amherst Survival Center-Food Pantry
• $24,000 Center for New Americans-Education: Outreach and advocacy
• $37,500 Town of Amherst-Childcare Tuition Assistance
• $100,000 Milestone Ministries-Emergency shelter and social services for the homeless
• $200,000 TOTAL SOCIAL SERVICE BUDGET

Non-social Service Activities

• $25,000 Town of Amherst-Planning activity: housing production plan and market study
• $200,000 Town of Amherst-Purchase of property on West Street for affordable housing
• $375,000 Town of Amherst-Public infrastructure and accessibility Improvements to Main Street
• $600,000 TOTAL NON-SOCIAL SERVICE BUDGET
